The Free Cycles community bike shop is as organized and well-running as it has ever been. Some of our attention is focused on doing the same with the Pedal Power Warehouse next door. The Tweed Ride on 10/20 was a great success with 140 riders and 3k raised for our Youth programs.

Walking and Cycling heats up |
August 2013: Both Free Cycles and MIST are in full gear for projects and programs. The community bike shop is full of activity, helping people repair their own bikes or build one from our stock of donations. On the reseach, design and advocacy end, we are busy collecing data before the 1st urban mini roundabout comes to Missoula at the end of August, at the intersection of Scott and Toole.

As Summer nears Fall, we look forward to the increasing chill of air and color of surroundings. Much of our work at MIST revolves around the changing seasons: plan and reflect in the Winter, start new and exciting projects in the Spring, focus on continuity and aliveness in the Summer and then harvest and celebrate in the Fall.

We have just completed: a town square demonstration, a dozen bicycle workshops with schools, the 15th annual Festival of Cycles, expansion of Free Cycles shop hours, advocacy and design for several single lane roundabouts and work on a new transportation model for Missoula.
