2018 Excitement
November 2018: Sustainable transportation remains healthy and vibrant in Missoula. New bike lanes and trails are being planned, new roundabouts have opened and transit continues to improve. We've been busy all year and look forward to strong planning and advocacy over the winter. Free Cycles community bike shop has hummed and been a beacon of activity. Getting more people on bikes and making biking more accessible is a critical part of our mission. More walking, transit and improving the driving system with safety and flow are other parts of what we do. Drop a note to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Growing Health in 2018
March 2018: Missoula, Montana continues to be a leader in sustainable transportation, with much work to do on the horizon.  While Missoula is consistently recognized for healthy transportation options, the gaps in the system are preventing the community from reaching full potential.  Bike lanes and sidewalks stop and start, crossing big roads is too dangerous, transit stops running at 7pm and not at all on some days and the motor vehicle system is full of crashes and pollution.  While our focus is to increase walking, cycling and transit, we also work to make driving safer and more flowing. Missoula has an adopted policy to triple walk/bike/transit modes over the next couple decades.  This is a very doable goal, with concerted effort to both build and maintain a good road, trail and plaza system.  How we each choose to move around affects our own personal health, community health and planetary health.  Let's grow health togehter.  email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. MIST, and our flagship program, Free Cycles Missoula, contintue to grow strength and make change in Missoula, Montana.  This has been a busy year, mainly stablilizing and organizing the 2 acre property we bought last year in the heart of Missoula.  This is laying the foundation for program expansion in 2018.

We continue to work on Roundabout policy, a pedestrian master plan, new bike lanes and trails, the Van Buren roundabouts slated for next summer and keeping strong involvement at the community bicycle shop.
